Day 2: North to Alaska
June 13, 2008 - Pampa, TX to
Colorado Springs, CO
A fairly mellow day, not too much to report. Left Pampa around 7AM, a little later than I'd normally get going. Wind had picked up some but not too bad.
I think I've found the flattest spot on the planet. Between Stinnet and Dumas, just absolutely dead flat, no contour to the ground at all. Weird.
Coming in towards Raton it was good to finally see the mountains, lots of snow still up there.
Rolled into Raton and had lunch at a coffee shop, then hit the road for Colorado Springs.
Got to Gary's at about 2PM, first thing he had to do was show off the kegerator.
We managed to put a small dent in it. :)
